Indications : | Squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck (including mouth, nose, oro pharynx, tongue, tonsil, buccal mucosa, larynx). Lmyphomas : Hodgkin's reticulum cell sarcoma, lymphosarcoma, testicular Ca, embroyonal cell Ca, choriocarcinoma, teratocarcinoma, malignant pleural effusion. | | Contraindications : | In patient who have hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy. | | Safety Profile : | Used with caution in patients with renal impairment or compromised pulmonary function. Chest x-ray should be taken every 1-2 weeks. | | Adverse Effects : | Pneumonitis progressing to pulmonary anaphylactoid reactions, erythema, rash, striae, vesiculation, hyperpigmentation, rarely myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular accident, haemolytic uraemia syndrome, cerebral arthritis. Local reactions : Pain, pruritus, hyperpigmentation, scarring, suppuration scaling. | | Dosage : | Squamous cell carcinoma, lymphosarcoma, testicular carcinoma:- 0.25-0.50 units/kg or 10-20 units/m² i.v. or i/m or s/c weekly or twice weekly. Hodgkin's disease :- 0.25-0.50 units/kg (10-20 units/m2) i.v. or i/m or s/c weekly or twice after 50% response the maintenance dose of 5 u/week i/v. or i/m should be given.
